Panel-by-panel breakdown
This template has no printed dialogue. The story is told entirely through the artwork, so each panel below is described from the image.
Panel 1
A cosy living room at night with city lights outside. One partner in a navy sweater and the other in a pink-red sweater sit at opposite ends of a beige sofa, arms folded, faces turned away.
Panel 2
Split panel: a corgi in a blue bandana brings a long pink bone toy to the navy-sweater partner, who rests a chin in one hand, then to the red-sweater partner, who looks down in surprise.
Panel 3
Both kneel on the rug face to face, each holding one end of the long toy, while the corgi sits between them with its tongue out, looking delighted.
Panel 4
The sofa cushions now form a pillow fort with plush toys inside. Both partners laugh with eyes closed and scratch the corgi's head together, little hearts floating above.

When it is not a good fit
It is not suited to serious conflict or stories that need the argument explained.
How to remix The Pause Button on Our Fight

- 2Let the pet bring the same two-ended toy to each of them.
- 3End inside a pillow fort with both laughing and petting the peacemaker.
Ways to make it your own
Use your own pet
A cat dropping a ball of yarn, or a rabbit nudging a carrot between them.
Change the peace offering
A blanket, a single snack or a game controller.
Make it siblings
Two siblings arguing over the TV until the dog joins the sofa.
Questions about The Pause Button on Our Fight
Why a long toy?
Both people have to hold it at once, which physically pulls them together. Keep an object with two ends.
Do I need a corgi?
No. Any pet works; give it a bandana or a clear colour so it reads as the hero.
Can my two characters be any genders?
Yes. It is a two-character template; contrasting sweater colours keep them distinct.
