Panel-by-panel breakdown
This template has no printed dialogue. The story is told entirely through the artwork, so each panel below is described from the image.
Panel 1
A dim kitchen lit by a single warm light. A young man in a black sweater holds a pack of instant noodles and reaches toward the shelf, a pot already waiting on the stove.
Panels 2-4
Three close-ups of the ingredients: the dry noodle block in its wrapper, an egg held in one hand, and a container of fresh leafy greens.
Panels 5-7
Cooking steps: noodles boiling in the pot, an egg poaching on a ladle with a bright yolk, and a hand dropping greens into the broth.
Panels 8-10
Plating: noodles lifted into a bowl, the finished bowl with the egg, greens and scallions on top, and a hand bringing the bowl closer.
Panel 11
He sits by a window with the full moon over city lights, desk lamp on, lifting noodles with chopsticks and smiling as he eats.

Who this template suits
This template suits solo characters, night owls and food-loving accounts. The many small close-ups give a satisfying cooking rhythm, and the final wide shot turns a cheap meal into a cosy ritual. It works for food comics, ASMR-style posts and late-night mood content.
When it is not a good fit
It is not suited to stories with conflict or several characters talking; it is a slow, sensory sequence.
How to remix The Midnight Noodle Ritual
- 1Keep the 1 + 9 + 1 rhythm: wide opener, small ingredient and cooking grid, wide ending.
- 2Choose three ingredients your character would really add.
- 3End by a window at night with the first bite, not with the empty bowl.
Ways to make it your own
Change the dish
Make it fried rice, a toasted sandwich or hot chocolate, keeping three ingredient close-ups.
Add a companion
Let a pet watch from the counter in the first panel and share the window seat in the last.
Change the time
Turn it into an early-morning breakfast before a big day, with sunrise in the final window.
Questions about The Midnight Noodle Ritual
Why so many small panels?
The grid of close-ups works like a recipe and slows the pace, which is what makes the ending feel rewarding.
Is there text on the image?
No. The ingredients and steps are shown, not written.
Does the character have to be male?
No. It is a single-character template; any character who would cook alone at midnight fits.
