Orange-brown hair pulled into a high ponytail with loose strands around her face, big amber eyes, a few freckles across her nose and a wide, bright smile. She tucks a basketball under one arm and flashes a peace sign at the viewer with the other hand.
Signature outfit
A white zip-up track jacket with orange stripes on the shoulders and sleeves over a white T-shirt, an orange lanyard with an orange whistle, a white sports watch, deep navy track pants and white sneakers.
Where you will find them
A sunlit indoor basketball court. A hoop and backboard hang behind her, the wooden floor glows warmly, broad daylight pours through the window panes and orange and blue streamers and confetti drift through the air.
Personality and what makes them interesting
Remembers everyone
She keeps track of every player's physical condition, mood swings and technical strengths, making her the person who knows this team best.
Morale comes first
Win or lose, she is the loudest voice courtside and the one comforting or rallying players afterwards, the team's emotional anchor.
Characters that pair well
Suggested pairing: a quiet star player
The ace never admits to being hurt, yet Tang Tang always notices first. That unspoken understanding can grow into trust.
Suggested pairing: a strict coach
The coach runs the drills and Tang Tang keeps everyone wanting to show up, and the two often clash over how to lead the team.
Story hooks
The notebook
A possible opening: Tang Tang loses the notebook where she tracks every player, and whoever finds it sees the team completely differently after reading it.
After five straight losses
The team has lost five in a row and the locker room is silent when Tang Tang walks in holding nothing but a whistle.
The manager suits up
A friendly match is one player short and Tang Tang gets pushed onto the court, leaving the whole team more nervous than in their own games.
Character card FAQ
What kind of comic suits Tang Tang?
Campus sports, team ensembles and energetic coming-of-age stories. A manager's view can tie an entire team's stories together.
Which details matter when drawing Tang Tang?
The orange-brown high ponytail and freckles, the white track jacket with orange stripes, the orange whistle and lanyard, a white watch, the basketball under her arm and the peace sign.
How does a manager lead make an interesting story?
Point the camera off the court: training logs, pre-game prep and the locker room afterwards. Many moments that decide a match happen right next to her.
